You Will Be Responsible For:
Under supervision, the Staff Biostatistician will work with investigators and research teams to formulate scientifically sound research designs and statistical plans. The Staff Biostatistician will perform data management including standard cleaning and quality control procedures. The Staff Biostatistician will complete statistical power calculations, statistical analysis and interpretation of results. The Staff Biostatistician actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
What You Will Need:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Master’s degree in biostatistics, statistics, or related discipline
1-2 years of research experience as a biostatistician (can be part of training or education)
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
3-5 years of research experience as a biostatistician (can be part of training or education)
Project specific experience in psychometrics, genomics, transcriptomics, or other “omics” area
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION PREFERRED:
SAS Base Certification
SAS Advanced Analytics Certification
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Basic understanding of theoretical and applied statistics, research design, and data measurement
Ability to effectively collaborate and communicate with AHRI research departments, investigators, and research teams
Able to work independently or as part of a team
Detail orientated, problem solving and multi-tasking skills
Data management and documentation skills with a focus on accuracy
Well versed in statistical software programming languages such as SAS, R, SPSS, STATA, etc.
Effective written and verbal communication skills, especially with physician investigators
Ability to learn advanced statistical applications

Respectfully and effectively interacts with a wide variety of internal and external investigators and answers statistical questions.
Provides (with supervision) protocol development, research design and statistical consultation to investigators and research teams who are developing research projects and/or submitting grant applications.
Assists with producing a statistical analysis plan and implementing the plan including computer code.
Works independently with data collection personnel or study team members to understand variable descriptions. This may also include producing or reviewing data collection sheets or case report forms.
Writes programming code and Excel formulas for data manipulation, transformation and derive analytic variables as required. Produces data management plans for complex studies.
Methodical and accurate in producing results and documenting all steps of data preparation. Under supervision, develops analysis datasets, combines multiple disparate raw datasets, executes standard cleaning and quality control procedures.
Provides (with supervision) power analyses, statistical analyses, and interpretation of results to investigators and research teams. This includes a written report for investigators.
Expands knowledge of analysis and software by taking online classes, webinars or lectures. Increases knowledge in other areas that support the research process from study idea to publication.
