Work Hours/Shift:
- Part-time Nights. 16 guaranteed hours a week with the opportunity to work more. 12 hour shifts 6p-6a.
- No call required.
- One weekend shift a month required
- Full-time Nights: 3/12s 6p-6a. Rotating weekends.
- Demonstrates complex assessment skills: formulates an individualized treatment plan based on therapeutic principles as appropriate for age/ psychological development, initiates and/or maintains diagnostic/treatment regimes, interprets common laboratory, electrographic and radiologic findings and intervenes appropriately based on specific principles, evaluates the effectiveness of nursing/medical interventions in accomplishing desired patient outcomes, evaluates / provides /facilitates appropriate education for patients and families according to individual learning needs, evaluates and provides for patient discharge needs with specific recommendations for follow up in the outpatient setting and recognizes and provides immediate appropriate responses to life threatening emergencies.
- Communicates effectively with physicians, management, staff, patients and families to ensure coordinated and cohesive execution of quality patient care in a timely manner: effectively/consistently collaborates with members of the health care team to coordinate treatment plans, specific patient concerns and discharge planning, communicates effectively/accurately the patient treatment goals and activities with the staff members providing the care, participates in team conferences and provides information relating to therapeutic concerns in a clear, concise manner, reports to program director problems or concerns involving direct/indirect patient care in a timely/professional manner, participates in performance improvement activities, coordinates efforts to address identified deficiencies, establishes/maintains a therapeutic relationship with patients /families by explaining rationale for care and patient progression while demonstrating concern and awareness of their needs and communicates through documentation in the medical record / progress notes and order writing.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Master’s degree in Nursing
- Current advanced practice registration with Florida State Board of Nursing
- Experience with intra-ventricular device monitoring, drainage, and management
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
- Experience with endovascular patient management
- Inpatient neuroscience experience
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
- Current advanced practice registration with Florida State Board of Nursing
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

The Neuroscience Advanced Practice Registered Nurse is responsible for providing nursing/medical inpatient/outpatient services of AdventHealth within the scope of practice of licensure and as outlined in the Collaborative Practice Agreement and is responsible for eliciting patient histories and conducting comprehensive evaluations. Clinical management of neurosurgical and neurological patients in the ICU, particularly invasive hemodynamic and intra-ventricular monitoring - which includes drainage of cerebral spinal fluid from the brain. Clinical management and knowledge of the AHA Stroke Management Patient Care Guidelines. Adheres to AdventHealth Corporate Compliance Plan and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state, and federal agencies and accrediting bodies.
