The Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) at Memorial Healthcare System is seeking a motivated and dynamic Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join its growing team. Memorial serves a diverse population in Broward County, with over 13,000 deliveries annually. The selected candidate will collaborate with MFM physicians to cover inpatient antepartum services. Responsibilities will include developing an appropriate clinical approach to high-risk patients in an acute care setting, determining risk stratification of obstetric patients, interpreting external fetal monitoring (EFM) and fetal ultrasound reports, performing clinically relevant physical exams (including but not limited to maternal heart, lung, and abdominal assessments, obtaining fetal heart rates, and performing cervical exams). The ideal candidate will have knowledge of high-risk obstetric diagnoses and standards of care as well as experience in women’s health. Additionally, knowledge of research and clinical guidelines per the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ACOG) and Society for Maternal Fetal Medicine is beneficial. Nurse Practitioner candidates must have a national Acute Care Nurse Practitioner and Certified Nurse Midwife Certification or national Acute Care Nurse Practitioner and Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner Certifications. Physician Assistant candidates must have a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (or Master’s equivalent) from an ARC-PA accredited program and possess a Physician Assistant Certification. A BLS and ACLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross and a Florida license must be obtained by date of hire.
Schedule requirements are five (5) days per week, 8 AM – 5 PM with rotating weekend and holiday coverage. This is a full-time employed position that offers competitive benefits and a compensation package that is commensurate with training and experience. Professional malpractice and medical liability are covered under sovereign immunity.
