This job classification is used for the Nursing F loat Pool managed byISRP.Independently plan and provide professional nur sing care for patients inaccordance with physician orders and establishe d policies andprocedures. Provide nursing services to patients and famil ies inaccordance with the scope of the RN as defined by the North Caroli naBoard of Nursing.
Work Performed
Plan, provide, sup ervise and document professional nursing careutilizing the nursing proce ss for patients in accordance with physicianorders and established polic ies and procedures. Use professional nursingjudgment to individualize th e plan of care based on assessment of thepatient's baseline needs and re sponse to care.Delegate tasks andsupervise the activities of other lice nsed andunlicensed care providers.Assist other nursing personnel in the delivery of nursing care and actas team leader or charge nurse for a gro up of patients or an entire unitas assigned.Monitor and initiate correct ive action to maintain the environment ofcare including equipment and ma terial resources.Participate in own professional development by maintain ing requiredcompetencies, identifying learning needs and seeking appropr iateassistance or educational offerings.Act as preceptor and support the development of other staff and formallearners.Participate in the identi fication of clinical or operational performanceimprovement opportunities and in performance improvement activities.Perform other related dutiesincidental to the work described herein.

Minimum Qualifications
Education
Work requires graduation from an accredited BSN program. Exception: Registered nurses hired between July 1, 2014 and April 11, 2021 without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) are encouraged to enroll in an appropriate BSN program within two years of their start date but must complete the program within five years of their start date. Registered nurses hired before July 1, 2014 are not required to enroll in a BSN program to remain in this job classification.
Experience
Twelve months of appropriate clinical experience is required.
Degrees, Licensures, Certifications
Must have current or compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina. BLS required.
