Job Description:

• Participates in peer interviewing and review processes. Considers factors related to safety, effectiveness, cost, and impact on practice in the delivery of nursing services.
• Collects comprehensive data pertinent to the patient’s health and unit-specific data for process improvement initiatives.
• Conducts initial patient assessments within expected timeframes, initiates consults as indicated, and identifies patient/family teaching and discharge planning needs.
• Maintains safe practices by demonstrating unit-specific clinical competency and compliance with all regulatory standards. Ensures safe and effective handoff communications and documentation between caregivers.
• Communicates courteously with internal and external customers in person or on the telephone.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Proficient clinical critical care skills and critical thinking skills with strong communication skills required.
• Basic computer skills and commitment to hourly patient rounding required.
• Previous EKG Interpretation Class preferred.
• Must possess frequent independent judgment and the ability to handle clinical situations requiring sound professional judgment and critical-thinking skills, including clinical assessment, data analysis, and patient response.
• Responsible for providing quality patient care and continuously prioritizing multiple duties.

• Associate's of Nursing [equired]
• Bachelor's of Nursing Preferred

• 1+ years acute care experience Preferred

Licenses and Certifications:

• Registered Nurse (RN) Required
• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) Required
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support Cert (ACLS) Preferred
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support Cert (PALS) Preferred
• Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) Preferred
