Part Time Days: 32 hours/week and approximately 20 days on call/month
Locations:
Monday and Thursday: at Neurology at 50 Hospital Drive Suite 1 Hendersonville, NC
Tuesday and Wednesday: at Multispecialty Clinic at One Health Park Drive Hendersonville, NC
Performs quality recordings by collecting pertinent patient history information, properly preparing the patient using age-specific criteria, conducting the examination, and preparing the recording for physician interpretation.
Receives and gives report clearly to communicate patient care information to provide optimal care.
Informs the supervisor and/or the physician of changes in the patient’s condition or abnormalities on the recording.
Maintains supplies and equipment for patient care and maintains an orderly and efficient system for storage and retrieval of patient information.
Ensures adherence to corporate compliance plans and regulations of local, state, and federal agencies.
Assists in the radiology department as needed.
Performs basic patient care within the scope of practice and departmental standards.
Archives studies, copies to appropriate storage device, and troubleshoots equipment issues.
Sterilizes transducers as needed.
Coordinates equipment service and preventative maintenance. Documents patient clinical information as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Knowledge of EEG procedures and equipment. [Required] • Ability to observe EEG tracings and respond appropriately to seizure activity. [Required] • Ability to recognize artifact and reapply or replace appropriate electrode(s). [Required] • Ability to function independently with little or no supervision. [Required] • Ability to communicate effectively, including the ability to read, write, speak and understand the spoken English language to ensure the safety and wellbeing of patients and visitors. [Required] • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. [Required] • Computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft® Office applications and basic computer use, or willingness to learn. [Preferred] • Ability to successfully perform EEG recordings. [Required] • Demonstrates a specialized level of knowledge and understanding of hospital nursing practices, telemetry monitor, infection control procedures, biomedical equipment/electronics, CPR, patient transport, and fire and safety practices. [Required] • A level of knowledge normally achieved through an EKG Technician program. [Required] • Organizational skills. [Required] • Ability to read/comprehend written instructions and follow verbal instructions. [Required] • Keyboarding (manual) and computer (visual) skills. [Required] • Must have the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care which addresses the physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety age-appropriate needs of the patient populations served within the department. [Required]
