Job Description:
• Identifies, intervenes, and stabilizes patients during transport under the direction of the medical director and EMS protocols.
• Provides direct medical care to patients during transport consistent with established EMS medical protocols and guidelines.
• Establishes and manages advanced airways via intubation, Laryngeal mask airway (LMA), and/or cricothyrotomy as approved by EMS medical protocols.
• Manages ventilators, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), and Left Ventricular Assist Devices (LVAD) during transport.
• Administers approved medications and narcotics consistent with EMS medical protocols.
• Infuses blood products consistent with EMS medical protocols.
• Performs all required procedures consistent with EMS medical protocols.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient conditions and treatments as appropriate.
• Educates patients and family members about patient illnesses and clinical interventions.
• Inspects and maintains equipment to ensure the safety of transport team members, patients, and the public.
• Completes and submits patient care reports (ePCR) in charting software consistent with state requirements.
• Operates emergency vehicles safely in various weather and emergent conditions, communicating delays and updates to dispatch, and reporting any vehicle issues to the supervisor.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Ability to determine the nature of patient conditions and assess whether patients have pre-existing medical conditions [Required] • Ability to identify and treat life threatening conditions within the paramedic's field of practice [Required] • Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English [Required] • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office [Required]

Work Experience: • 1+ experience emergency vehicle operations [Preferred] • Ambulance transport experience [Preferred]
