Job Description:

Nuclear Medicine Manager AHMG Cardiology at Orlando

1613 N. Mills Ave., Orlando, FL 32803

Monday - Friday / day shift

* position requires travel to other AHMG Cardiology practices within Central FL

• Ensures compliance with all regulatory standards. 
• Contributes to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of diagnostic services.
• Oversees the daily operations of the Nuclear Department, PET Lab, and Arrhythmia Clinic.
• Manages hiring, training, and evaluations of staff to ensure competency and compliance.
• Ensures all employees are trained and oriented to new procedures and equipment.
• Prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals to patients. Collaborates with other departments to optimize patient care and streamline processes.
• Monitors performance metrics and implements improvements as needed. Performs other duties as assigned. Provides education to patients regarding test procedures.
• Coordinates schedules and ensures the availability of necessary resources.
•  Monitors the characteristics and functions of tissues or organs in which the drug is localized.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Knowledge of the principles and practices of diagnostic Nuclear, PET and Arrhythmia procedures. [Required]
• Knowledge of basic chemistry, anatomy, and image processing techniques. [Required]
• Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions applicable to the work. [Required]
• Ability to lift and position patients for the type of nuclear medicine procedure required. [Required]
• Ability to set up and operate nuclear medicine camera, GM meters, and dose calibrators. [Required]
• Ability to clean, maintain and make minor adjustments to equipment. [Required]
• Ability to notice details in drawings and differences in shapes and shadings. [Required]
• Knowledge of radiation protection standards, including basic knowledge of the radio-sensitive areas of the body and standard methods and devices used for protection in order to assure that adequate safeguards are maintained for patient or operator. [Required]
• Demonstrates ability to communicate by reading, writing legibly, speaking and comprehending English effectively in order to carry out job requirements. [Required]
• Must have general knowledge/understanding of implantable cardiac devices, holter and event monitor functioning, remote monitoring, and post-operative patient care. [Required]

Education:
• Bachelor's [Preferred]
• Associates [Required]

Field of Study:
• Cardiovascular Technology, Emergency Medical Services, Nursing, Radiologic Technology or Respiratory Therapy

Work Experience:
• Experience with cardiac nuclear imaging including Siemens PET system and GE nuclear camera [Preferred]
• Supervisory/Managerial experience [Preferred]

$72,189.82 - $134,259.75
